J-F Courville is President and Chief Executive Officer of MFC Global Investment Management, the asset management division of the Manulife Financial Corporation.

J-F, who joined in 2007, is responsible for growing MFC Global Investment Management's institutional and sub-advisory investment management businesses in North America, Europe and Asia as well as expanding investment management services to Manulife Financial's own wealth management businesses globally. He is also a member of Manulife's Management Committee.

J-F joined Manulife after 11 years at State Street Corporation where he held several financial trading and research positions in Montreal, Toronto and Boston. His most recent position was President and Chief Executive Officer of State Street Canada, overseeing the organization's asset servicing, asset management, and trading and research activities.

J-F also previously held currency trading and strategist positions with the National Bank of Canada, in Montreal and London, U.K.

J-F is an active community member, serving as Chairman of the Board of Habitat for Humanity Toronto and on the Advisory Board of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University. He is also an active cycling philanthropist. J-F holds a B.Com in Finance and International Business from McGill University in Montreal and has a CFA designation.
