The investment operations of MFC Global Investment Management (Canada) are based in Toronto and are comprised of three teams: North American Equity; North American Fixed Income; and Strategic Asset Allocation.

The North American equity team manages a range of Canadian and U.S. equity mandates and styles, including value, core and growth, ranging from large cap to small cap. Equity portfolios are managed utilizing empowered teams of specialized managers with years of experience in their areas of expertise. Common across all teams, the managers use disciplined investment and risk management processes through quantitative and qualitative approaches to security selection and portfolio construction.

The fixed income team is one of the largest fixed income investment groups in North America. The team manages investment grade and high-yield public and private debt, real estate-related asset-backed securities, and commercial mortgage-backed securities. They have developed a proprietary, global credit research database and a multi-disciplined approach to identify "pockets of value" in fixed income, in order to generate alpha on behalf of our clients.

MFC GIM Canada manages asset allocation solutions for investors in Canada, the U.S. and Asia. Using sophisticated asset allocation modeling techniques and a dynamic review process to incorporate new asset classes as markets evolve, the team delivers strategic and tactical asset allocation solutions with the aim of generating consistent long-term returns.

In the U.S., our lead office in Boston, Massachusetts offers a number of actively managed equity and fixed income strategies with distinct investment styles and return objectives, and the common goal of generating consistently superior returns.

Our equity strategies span multiple market caps and are managed using the bottom-up, fundamental research process of our Intrinsic Value team, or the innovative proprietary process of our U.S. Quantitative team.

Fixed income portfolios are managed by an experienced and deep team of portfolio managers seeking to identify relative value opportunities from a diverse range of fixed income sectors in the U.S and international markets.

MFC Global Investment Management (Asia), a division of Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, offers clients a variety of investment solutions focused on the Asian equity and fixed income markets. Our cornerstone Asian strategies include the Hong Kong, Greater China, Asia Pacific and High Yield Strategies.

Hong Kong is the regional centre for all the investment activities throughout the region and home to senior investment staff. With oversight from the Hong Kong office, MFC GIM also manages several single country strategies around Asia.

The equity team manages value, growth and dividend income mandates, while the fixed income team offers Yen-denominated active bond and short-term corporate bond portfolios, both of which are geared to produce higher alpha by incorporating foreign credits.
