MFC Global Investment Management Appoints Françoys Levert, CFA, to Sales Team — July 6, 2009

TORONTO - July 6, 2009 - MFC Global Investment Management (MFC GIM) has named Françoys Levert as Managing Director, Sales & Relationship Management. Mr. Levert reports to Frank Saeli, Head of Sales & Relationship Management for North-America. Based in Montreal, Mr. Levert will lead sales and relationship management efforts in Quebec and in Eastern Canada.

"As we expand our distribution initiatives in the North American institutional marketplace, we will depend on the experience and dedication of Françoys and our growing sales team to market our investment strategies to a broad range of clients," said Mr. Saeli.

Prior to Joining MFC GIM, Mr. Levert, 39, was a Managing Director with State Street Global Markets, responsible for the institutional foreign exchange sales activities in Canada. He managed a team of sales professionals located in Toronto and Montreal, focused on developing foreign exchange trading activity with non-custody clients of State Street. Mr. Levert was with State Street for 12 years. Prior to that, he held investment banking and analyst positions with Credit Lyonnais and Société Générale. Mr. Levert is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a B.A. in finance from École des HEC in Montréal. He is a resident of Montreal.
