For over 60 years, John Hancock has provided a vast array of administrative and investment services to the group pension marketplace. We currently handle accounts for more than 4,500 institutional clients. Our commitment to quality remains a priority. To ensure the success of a client program, a dedicated unit handles all aspects of the process, from sales, underwriting, pricing and installation to ongoing administration.

Our Competitive Advantage |
Decades of experience in this business. We process monthly checks for more than 300,000 retirees for plans with fewer than 100 retirees to plans with more than 10,000 retirees.
Defined benefit expertise. Our long history in the defined benefit business gives us an enviable perspective on the legislation and regulations that have shaped this market. It takes more than check-processing capabilities to be a valuable resource to a plan sponsor.
Ability to handle complex situations. We can confidently provide you with knowledge and familiarity of foreign tax withholdings. We are also capable of handling customized deductions, third party payments or the administration of benefits with multiple payees with ease; along with other services.
Toll-free number, staffed by experienced benefit professionals. Your retirees want to speak directly with a person who can answer questions or solve problems - they do not want the frustration of navigating through a voice response system. When your retirees call, we are ready with the answer. An advanced image processing system lets us store information "online" in a paperless environment. There are no lost files, and most inquiries are handled in the initial call.
Simplified pricing structure. Other providers typically assess a charge each time participant data changes. Our fee includes future changes in participant data and access to the toll-free number. |

What We Offer |
|
Our Benefit Payment Services are generally available to corporate, union or governmental defined benefit plans with 100 or more retired lives. This service is also available to smaller plans (25 or more eligible lives) if benefit payments are drawn against John Hancock's Short Term Investment Fund, a pooled separate account designed exclusively for qualified retirement plans. We would be pleased to offer a cost estimate upon receipt of a copy of the plan and census data.
