Sarah Johnson
Sales Associate


Sarah Johnson is primarily responsible for marketing John Hancock appointed Structured Settlement brokers. Her duties include sales production, licensing, event planning and customer service.

Sarah joins the team of Structured Settlements with over five years of sales and marketing experience. Prior to John Hancock she worked as a sales manager where she hired a team of individuals and drove sales through innovative marketing techniques and product knowledge.

Sarah received a B.S. in Marketing from the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire.

Jason Weinstein
Jr. Sales Associate


Jason Weinstein is responsible for supporting the sales and marketing activities for the Structured Settlements team. His duties entail sales production, customer service, promotions, event planning, and licensing.

Prior to joining the Structured Settlements team, Jason worked in operations within John Hancock Funds. Within the operations team Jason helped co-workers increase productivity and accuracy by creating job aids and implementing new initiatives, all while individually performing at a high level.

Jason received a B.S in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing from the School of Management at Boston University.

Contract Underwriting


Carolyn Poliks, CSSC
Benefit Coordinator


Carolyn Poliks is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Structured Settlement Unit. This encompasses broker support including document review, first payments and fielding broker questions.

Ms. Poliks has been in the structured settlement industry for over 10 years. Prior to joining JH, she was with Cambridge Galaher Settlements where her responsibilities included pre- and post-settlement administration and supervising the sales support operation. She also spent time as a paralegal at a personal injury firm.

Ms. Poliks received a B.A. from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and earned her Certified Structured Settlement Consultant designation from the University of Notre Dame.

Debra Fitzgerald Klemp, CSSC
Benefits Training Coordinator


Debra assists in the support of the JH Structured Settlement unit by answering broker questions regarding underwriting guidelines, documentation requirements and file review through contract issuance.

Before joining the Hancock team Debra was with Cambridge Galaher Settlements supervising the centralized post settlement unit where she managed the process and personnel for all cases from funding to contract issuance.

Debra received her B.S. in Psychology at Emmanuel College in Boston and her CSSC designation from the University of Notre Dame.

Edward J Buscema, FLMI
Structured Settlement Specialist


Edward Buscema assists in the Post Sales operations of Structured Settlements by processing new cases through the JH systems, coordinating contract issuance and releasing first payments. He also assists with document review and customer service.

Mr. Buscema has worked for John Hancock since 2002. Prior to working in Structured Settlements, he worked for the pension department in both pre and post retirement functions

Mr. Buscema received his BA in Mathematics and Theology from Assumption College in Worcester and his MS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has received his Fellow, Life Management Institute from the Life Office Management Association.

Medical Underwriting


Rosemary Brindamour, RN, CSSC, CCM
Chief Medical Underwriter


Rosemary Brindamour is responsible for the medical underwriting group to offer rated ages based upon substandard mortality evaluated from current medical documents.

Rosemary has been affiliated with Structured Settlements since 1999 and is a leading expert in the Structured Settlement industry. Rosemary is a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant, a Registered Nurse and a Case Manager. Rosemary has been a Co Chairwoman of the Education Committee for the National Structured Settlement Trade Association and remains an active educational committee member and a member of the Certification Committee. She was awarded a leadership award at the 2006 National Trade Association annual meeting.

Legal


Mark Alpert, CLU
AVP & Senior Counsel


Mark Alpert is responsible for legal matters pertaining to product design, marketing and underwriting of the JH Structured Settlements program.

Mr. Alpert has been in the insurance industry for thirty-five years with carriers and in private practice.  He has been a member of the John Hancock Law Department for twenty-three years serving in various capacities.

Mr. Alpert is currently Co-Chair of the National Structured Settlement  Trade Association Legal Committee.  He is a graduate of  Tufts University and Columbia University School of Law.  He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and has completed the Senior Executive Program at the London Business School.
