U.S. Fixed Products
As Senior Vice President and General Manager of U.S. Fixed Products, Mr. McHugh has overall general management responsibility for Manulife Financial's Fixed Annuity, Institutional spread and fee-based businesses in the United States.
Mr. McHugh is President of the John Hancock Life Insurance Company of Vermont as well as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees with The Boston Harbor Association.
During Mr. McHugh's 26-year career at the Company, he has held management positions in the Company's U.S., Corporate and Investment divisions. Mr. McHugh has been General Manager of U.S. Fixed Products since June, 2005. Prior to the Manulife and John Hancock merger, Mr. McHugh was the Treasurer of John Hancock. Mr. McHugh held various roles in the Guaranteed & Structural Financial Products area prior to being in Treasury.
Mr. McHugh is a graduate of Boston University, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mr. McHugh is married with three children.
